Claiming More Freedom At Home
Subversive Uncle Frank
Escaping doesn't just mean getting across the U.S. border (or the U.K. border or the Canadian border or wherever you are escaping from).
It means claiming your God given freedoms. It can actually be done to a large degree without crossing the border. Harry Brown wrote a book called "How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World" that I highly recommend.
Let me give you an example straight from actual slavery in the United States. On the day of the emancipation proclamation, all of the slaves were free men by law.
But did they all instantly go to the North to get away from their old slave masters? If they did, then how did the South end up with such a large African American population?
The fact is that many slaves had no interest in being free. They continued working for their prior masters receiving the exact same roof over their head and food on their table as they had always received. Freedom was an abstract concept for them and they had no interest in claiming their freedom.
Others signed on to go "home" even though they were born in the U.S. They wanted to go back to Africa and non-profit organizations were helping them do just that. A new nation was being formed called Liberia (Liberty). They left the borders of the U.S. for a better life. Many regretted that decision when Liberia offered worse conditions than even slavery in the United States.
Still others cared a great deal about freedom, but understood that freedom isn't about location. Sure; it is about the freedom to travel as you wish, but it is also the freedom to stay were you are if you wish.
Most of those purchasing my Private Posts package want to physically escape. I don't blame them. The U.S. is no longer #1 in anything positive. Sure; it is the #1 most obese country on earth... and the U.S. imprisons a higher percentage of the population than any other country. But those things aren't anything to brag about.
In terms of longevity, the U.S. is #38. Even supposedly third world countries like Costa Rica have a longer life expectancy. The crime rate is horrible in the U.S. and much of the crime is committed by the authorities who were entrusted to protect the citizens from crime. There are a lot of reasons to leave for a better life. I have done so. There are millions of others who have left for a better life and form little Americas all over this beautiful planet.
Freedom means the freedom to leave. It also means the freedom to stay. How can you be more free if you decide to stay?
One way is to be more self-sufficient. Start a business rather than getting a job. Do your banking wherever in the world you wish. Get a second passport. Invest in gold. Go off the grid. Start a garden.
All of these things given you more freedom wherever you decide to live.
One of the most important (I think) is to get a second passport. You don't have to give up your U.S. citizenship to gain citizenship in another country. Doing so gives you a lot of extra freedom.
For instance, let's say you want to open a bank account in Switzerland. Unless you are a multi-millionaire, you can't with a U.S. passport. The U.S. government has been a huge pain in the arse to banks operating in other countries and they simply don't want the hassle for your $1,000 or even $100,000 in savings.
But walk into the same bank and hand them a passport from the Republic of Dominica and they will happily open an account for you with a $100 minimum deposit. You have increased your options by having a second passport.
There are also countries who have very restrictive visa programs for U.S. citizens. Pull out your passport from Nicaragua and all of those visa restrictions disappear. You are a welcome visitor to their country.
Another reason people are seeking second passports is that they don't trust their primary United States passport. There is a good reason for that. You can't trust that you will always be able to renew it. The U.S. is now in the practice of denying passports to it's own citizens for a wide variety of reasons.
All of those reasons are based on records that the U.S. government keeps. We all know how efficient and accurate the U.S. government can be with it's own records. It can be a very scary prospect to know that you could be arbitrarily denied a passport because of a mistake on a government record. But it does happen and it happens more and more every year since the U.S. government keeps adding reasons for denying passports and keeps merging potentially inaccurate records.
It is possible to escape without a passport. It is done every day. But I guarantee you that life is a lot easier anywhere in the world if you do have a passport.
If you have a passport from another country, you will be free to travel, open businesses, buy property and anything else even if the U.S. is denying you a passport.
It is an important step to increasing your freedom even if you decide you still want to live in the United States.
