Internet Business Box 3.0 Now Supports Plesk
Internet Business Box
One of the requirements for the Internet Business Box 3.0 used to be that it must be hosted on a Cpanel powered web-site.
That is no longer required. We have eliminated all of the hosting dependencies that we know about. It should run on any kind of host that supports PHP scripts currently.
And it has been tested on:
Cpanel
Ensim
And now...
Plesk
The site we used for testing on Plesk is SwapDiet.com and you can see it in action here:
SwapDiet.com
Everything seems to be running just fine on a Plesk powered host.
Installation is now easier than ever too. All of the IBB program files except for three are in the ibb folder. You don't need to change anything in this folder or set any permissions.
Three files are in the root folder. They are:
corpconfig.php - This is where you put your Clickbank ID, address to go at the bottom of emails sent, your adsense publisher ID, etc. It is a very simple file that can be changed in Notepad. You just find the setting on the left of the equal sign and change the value on the right of the equal sign.
index.php - This is just a one line php file that includes the real IBB code that is all located in the ibb folder. That one line ends up displaying every single page on your entire IBB powered web-site. You don't need to set anything in this file or set any permissions.
.htaccess - This is another simple file that goes in your home page folder that tells your web-server to send all page requests to the above index.php page to be served.
There are only three other folders:
bin - This is where all of the graphics and pdf files used by IBB go. No permissions need to be set on this folder.
tmp - This is just a temporary files folder that IBB uses while it is doing multivariate testing and optimizing your site. You need to set permissions to 755 on this folder (some hosts require 777). If you move a site, you can ignore the files in this folder. They will be recreated automatically on your new host.
dat - This is the data folder where the IBB stores all of your articles, web pages, categories, comments, site directory information and everything else. You need to set permissions to 755 on this folder (some hosts require 777).
It's that easy to install. Here are the steps:
1. Create four folders called ibb, bin, dat and tmp in your root folder.
2. Give dat and tmp 777 permissions.
3. Upload the IBB files to the ibb folder.
4. Edit the corpconfig.php to put in your information.
5. Upload index.php, .htaccess & corpconfig.php to the home page folder.
There is no database to set up. The IBB stores it's data in the dat folder so you don't have to worry about losing your data in a proprietary database or having to set up mysql. The IBB eliminates that step. All of your data is easily accessible in text files in the dat folder where you can easily edit them using Notepad if you wish.
That's it. Your site is now running the IBB 3.0 software and it works on at least Cpanel, Ensim and Plesk powered hosts and probably works on any other kind of host that supports PHP scripts.
Here is where you can get your own Internet Business Box software:
